OCT QA experts attended a conference for professionals in South Korea on November 10-11, 2015. Asia Quality Assurance Forum was held in Seoul National University. The event is held every two years. In 2015, the event gathered QA professionals for the second time.
The forum was opened with a presentation by CEO of Riot Games, an American video games developer. The presentation touched upon the key objectives any quality assurance team strive to meet. By demonstrating the activity management system in an industry different than clinical research, the presentation revealed certain similarities of approaches used in routine QA activities. Quality assurance and quality control are the cornerstones of any business aiming to thrive in a competitive environment.
The Forum consisted of three parallel working sessions: Good Clinical Practice (GCP) & Pharmacovigilance (PV), Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP), and Good Laboratory Practice (GLP).
GCP/PV speakers raised questions related to risk-based monitoring, issue escalation and CAPA processes, risk management, as well as development and implementation of pharmacovigilance system in South Korea, Japan and other countries. A special focus was made on the role of QA in pharmaceutical companies, contract research organizations and investigational sites.
The event was attended by delegates from Korea, Singapore, Japan, Germany, China, Iran and Taiwan. Asia Quality Assurance Forum is one of the most advanced industry platforms for international discussion and debate across a variety of QA issues related to clinical research.
